3 min readThe AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CLF-C02) is an entry-level certification offered by Amazon Web Services that validates foundational knowledge of the AWS Cloud. It is designed for individuals who want to demonstrate a basic understanding of cloud concepts, AWS services, security, pricing, and support â regardless of their technical background. The certification is widely recognized across the industry as a starting point for anyone beginning a career in cloud computing.
This certification is ideal for business professionals, project managers, sales teams, and technical newcomers who work alongside cloud teams but may not have hands-on technical experience with AWS. It targets those who can describe the AWS Cloud and the value of AWS services, understand the shared responsibility model, and identify core AWS services like EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda. No prerequisites are required, making it one of the most accessible certifications in the cloud space.
The CLF-C02 exam consists of 65 questions (50 scored, 15 unscored) in multiple-choice and multiple-response formats. Candidates have 90 minutes to complete the exam, and the passing score is 700 out of 1000. The exam is available at Pearson VUE or PSI testing centers, as well as online proctored. It covers four domains: Cloud Concepts (24%), Security and Compliance (30%), Cloud Technology and Services (34%), and Billing, Pricing, and Support (12%).
Practising with realistic mock questions is one of the most effective ways to prepare for the CLF-C02. The exam tests a broad range of services and concepts, and candidates who only read documentation often struggle with scenario-based questions that require applying knowledge to real-world situations. Repeated practice helps you recognize question patterns, identify tricky distractors, and build the confidence to work through the full exam under time pressure.
These practice sets cover all four CLF-C02 domains with 120 unique exam-style questions spread across six sets. Each question includes a detailed explanation of why the correct answer is right and why the other options are wrong, reinforcing understanding rather than rote memorization. The first set is completely free, giving you a risk-free way to gauge your readiness before exam day.
